In 2008, I graduated from Whitehall High School. In order to pursue my lifelong passion for teaching and working with children, I chose to attend East Stroudsburg University, an NCATE accredited institution. At ESU, I majored in Elementary Education, and I graduated in the fall of 2012 with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.
For my student teaching placements, I was placed at Lincoln Elementary and Donegan Elementary in Bethlehem, PA. My placements were in first and fourth grade classrooms, including special needs students and English language learners (ELL). During my placements, I was responsible for the complete planning and execution of lessons in all curricular areas, communication with parents and staff, monitoring social and behavioral development, as well as participating in parent/teacher conferences. In the summer of 2013, I was hired for a fifth grade teaching position at St. John Vianney Regional School, in Allentown, PA. In order to grow as a professional, I decided to revert back to substitute teaching in hopes of finding a new home in public education. In 2014, I began work on my Master's degree in Education, through Wilkes University, with a focus in Reading to become a Reading Specialist.
